Topic 2014: Global Value Chains

Building on the “Made in the World” Initiative by the WTO, the topics on the agenda included: adjustments on the rules of origin and more sophisticated value-added criteria, harmonized classifications for cross-border services and the implications of recently established FTAs. The concerns ranged from issues of market access, double taxation, mode of supply definitions or technical border control improvements to more general environmental issues and a coherent aid for trade strategy.
